As mentioned before, this year has been beyond crazy and when things calmed down I decided to do more things for me. The first thing that I wanted to get into was crafts. I wanted to learn how to make as much as I posssibly could.

I was very fortunate to find A WORK OF HEART STUDIO on Lincoln ave. in San Jose, CA. I love love love this place to the point that I almost did not want to divulge any info because I wanted a space to call my own. I know that is wrong so I made sure to tell all my friends and co-workers. I have taken several clases and one of them was a prayer journal. I took the class but knew I would make the usual journal so I mad a FAITH journal instead so that I might find words of faith and inspiration to help me.

I love the colors of black and read and I adored what I came up with. I am not fond of the papers inside the journal (thus you will not see them) and I will dazzle them up somehow and then I will show you what I came up with.

If anyone is still following this blog then I am very sorry for being MIA for over a year. This was my original blog that I decided to abandon when I pursued my blog dream of having a YA book review blog.

This year has been very hard on me, my mother was quite ill for over six months. We were in and out of hospitals, endured ten surgeries and there were times that I could not seem to visualize the light at the end of the tunnel. Yet, here we are nearly a year after my mother's heart attack and she is doing well. Because of this I have decided to devote more time to the people and things that I love.

I have been most fortunate in that pursuit but recently I have missed my first blog and decided that I would try to maintain both. I know that between the two sites this one will suffer but I hope that I will have enough to keep everyone entertained.

When it comes to TV I am usually a day late and a dollar short...ya know when my ship comes in, I am always at the airport...yeah..that is me. So, a good friend of mine always told me about The Big Bang Theory and I finally got to watch it... Like 2 years after the show has started but like I always say. Better late than never. This particular episode killed me. I was laughing so hard I could not catch my breath. Please enjoy!

Ok! I admit that I don't watch t.v. often, but when I do I make up for it. Tuesday night's at 10pm I have to put my book down and watch my favorite show and at the moment my favorite is the Housewives of New Jersey. I love to watch their drama and the table flip....OMG!!! I could watch Teresa flip that table all day...so funny. I am still trying to figure out all that she is trying to say.

My Twilight Convention Experience

I am still recovering from a nasty flu bug that is lingering within me. It stayed with me longer than need be, because i was a bad girl and neglected to take care of myself properly. I should have stayed home when i began to feel poorly, but instead I attended a few conventions.

My first Twilight convention was amazing. I had front row seats of which I opted to get for next year also, I am ever hopeful that Taylor Lautner will appear next year, Yeay!! Jacob Black. So, here are my beloved photo's that I wanted to share

I realized today after receiving a text from a good friend, that I failed to mention that I had a new blog. A new "book" blog to be exact. Thank you ((Christine)) for giving me the "heads up" on this fact. I assumed that I had taken care of announcing this on my blog. Last year I got a bit lazy and failed to post about books that I read (which were many) and then friends that wanted to catch up with me would have to riff through my book adoration posts and get a bit lost in the shuffle. So I created a separation of these items and it really has been easier for me. I hope people come over and visit.

My new blog Tales of a Ravenous Reader a Lush Budget Production has caused me to focus on the task at hand (BOOKS) and I really like it. Let me tell ya, it took me forevah to get its appearance to my liking, but I am fussy that way. So, if anyone loves books and wants to come on over and say hi or even respond on a few posts. I would be more than happy.

Another reason for me NOT to go skiing

I am a major klutz, my balance is not the best. So, skiing was never something I was interested in. I came really close to getting ski lessons last winter, but chickened out. Then while on the internet today I find this story. I think it crossed my path as a warning......"Don't go skiing or you will loose more than your dignity"

Here is the story an unfortunate soul who became involved in a terrible situation in Vail last friday.

"The chairlift's fold-down seat was not in the correct lowered-down position - causing the man to partially fall through the resulting gap as he attempted to board the lift.
He was prevented from plummeting to the ground below by his right ski, which became jammed in the ascending lift."

OMG!!!! I think he was grasping the branches, but who wouldn't try to grab on anything for help.

Thankfully help came and I bet it could not come soon enough.

OK...now....I know that sometimes your job can suck, but look at the guy underneath the depanted skier. That totally sucks.

I hope that he /she gets paid enough. I bet they will tell this story to family and friends for years and years to come.

Every time we hear this song we cannot help but thing of New Year's. We remember the year that has passed. The loved ones we have lost and the friends that we have made. Moments bittersweet that embrace our souls and joyous occasions that lift our spirits. All these things that create the events that make our lives...our memories.

This year I had lost many precious family members, my beloved grandmother being one of them. I shall miss her because I do not feel that I was ever able to spend enough time with her. I know she is in a good place and no longer suffering and for that I am grateful.

I also met an amazing person who is now a very good friend that feels as if she has been a part of my life for years and that she will always be around. She has the best advice and is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. She is my sistah from another mishah... :)

I know many dear friends have fallen on bad times, financially and physically. I hope that this year brings them all a bit of happiness and peace. Everyone deserves that. So let me raise that cup of kindess yet for auld lang syne.

Holiday Blessings

I have been blessed to have a few weeks off for a much needed vacation. It has given me time to reflect on this past year and look forward to an upcoming year full of promise and hope. I am thankful for many things, my family, my health, my friends, my job, and my books. It is my fondest wish to strengthen all those relationships that I have let falter and to work on becoming a better person, what that actually means for me, I am not so sure about. I only know that I want to lay my head down at night and sleep peaceful thoughts knowing that I have done my best. I found this passage on thankfulness the other day and decided that it fit my current frame of mind.

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Twilight The Movie

Well my dears I got to see Twilight last night...YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Would I see it again..yes, would I recommend it, yes. Did I love it??? NO! ? Why? well it seemed to move so fast. The romantic aspect of the story is my favorite part. The slow building love story that leaves ya breathless is amazing and the movie lacks that. That being said...it does have some amazing CGI effects and when Edward "Dazzles"....OME!!!

Well, this day is finally here. No...not the actual movie release, but the movie premiere that I will witness. I and a group of good peeps are going down to L.A. to attend(watch from a safe distance) the red carpet event going down tomorrow night. Yeah...I am that obsessed, but that fact has already been established. The picture that you see is the badge that I created for the event. I hope to come back with many stories and loads of pictures. Keep your fingers crossed for me and wish me will for this is unknown territory that I enter.

I leave tonight at 9pm...and hope the Volturi stay away and let us all have fun.

Her mysterious presence sets in motion a chain of events that catapult Mary far beyond the borders of her tiny village into an uncertain future fraught with fear and death. It is fascinating that this novel deals with zombies and yet that word is never mentioned. The strength of Carrie Ryan’s walking dead debut is the menacing mood it strikes–I could hear those cold, clammy fingers grappling with the fence and the moans of the unconsecrated by novel's end. SHUDDER!!!

I was left with more questions than answers by the time I turned the last page, and frustrated by the clues Mary found of modern life gone wrong and the potential corrupt nature of the Sisterhood that were dropped and not picked up again. Yet, the story is so very engrossing that you get past it. Also Mary’s constant back-and-forth can make things drag a bit: one minute she wants to risk everything to get to the ocean, then she does an about-face and goes into a downward spiral of self-doubt and self-defeat…then she’s back to being all bold and trying to get to the ocean again…then back. Even though this personality flaw of Mary’s gets annoying, I still think it’s a fairly realistic reaction to what is happening around her.

I hope there is a sequel, for I cannot wait to read more about Mary and her world. I normally do not fancy ANYTHING that has zombies in it (ask anyone that knows me), but this story is well done, a page turning powerhouse. If your interested in something with a dark edge that is different than vampires and werewolves then take a lurch on the wild side with Ryan’s disturb-arific zombies as soon as they start staggering into the nearest library or bookstore, which unfortunately will not be until April 2009.

Last night I went to see John Green promote his newest novel, Paper Towns at Kepler's (my favorite independent books store). I love going there for many reasons, but maily to visit with book store maven Angela.

Angela is always happy to see Tricia and I, and I am genuinely happy to see her in turn. Her book recommendations are fantastically spot on and she is marvelously witty and warm. Did I also mention that she is generous beyond measure? Last night while picking up my contest prize, an ARC of The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan (she got me a brand new copy, never read) MUAH!!. Angela went around looking for more ARC's to give to my friend Tricia so that she would not feel left out. By the time we left Tricia had 4 ARC's and a big happy grin on her face. It made up for the fact that we were very late for the book event, not even having to wait in line for an hour to see John Green put a damper on our mood.

So far this book is AMAZING!!! I love it. Unfortunately the book is not due for release until March 2009, but you can read an excerpt and put it on your TBR pile. Many of my favorite authors (Melissa Marr, Cassandra Clare, Scott Westerfeld) have fantastic blurbs about this book and it makes me all that more excited to be reading it. I will have a review to soon follow. :)

I would not have known about this book if not for Angela, so I am sending her some blog love and putting a shout out to the Teen Blog that she particpates in for Keplers. Please visit your independent book stores and participate in any event that you can, it makes a difference and it is very important to them. Because once these independents are gone....they are gone for good and that is a true shame.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I am not one for writing reviews, because I think I am horrible at them. I cannot seem to properly express how I feel about a book . I am afraid that I am doing a terrible injustice when I try to channel my emotions and put them into words.

Yet, I will try this time and see how things go. I am doing this because I think that this book is amazing and even though it has been weeks since I finished it...I am still thinking about it. Because of that fact I think that it merits some words of praise on my behalf. So here goes.

I believe that this book should have a disclaimer: "Warning: This book is not for the weak of heart."

The premise for this book is based on a dystopian society set in the lands that were once the United States. The author cleverly avoids the questions of how and why things have changed, and one does not ponder this fact because this story engages you from the very first page. It pulls you in and makes you gasp for breath, it makes you cry and it really makes you think. How far would you really go to survive?

16-year-old Katniss lives in District 12 of Panem and volunteers to represent her district in place of her younger sister, in the Hunger Games, a televised reality show where two representatives from the 12 districts, ages 12-18, fight to the death. These games were the surrender terms that were set by capitol when the districts were defeated after waging a war on them. BRUTAL!

For being targeted at a YA audience, this book is surprisingly brutal, but in a good way. There is violence, murder, betrayal, and everything else inherent in a gladiatorial fight to the death. That said, "The Hunger Games" was absolutely riveting. Collins does not pull any punches in saving beloved characters from horror and pain, and she also occasionally pulls the rug out from under your feet. Plus, there is a twisting romance that pulls your heart in different directions. In true series preparation the ending ends on a cliffhanger, making me yearn for book number two, and you know this will lead to something big for Katniss does something that would never go unpunished in her world. There will definitely be repercussions...

This book is just amazing, plain and simple. Read it.

I've been awarded the I Love Your Blog Award by my dear friend Christine. I love to visit her blog for I find the best book suggestions and her reviews just blow me away. She is very expressive and passionate about them and I am always aspiring to make a review one quarter as good as hers. I also adore hearing about her adventures for it makes me feel closer, even though I am so very far away.

I met Christine on the JR Ward boards almost 2 years ago and we became instant friends. We realized that we had many things in common (YEAH!! TEAM JACOB) and our love of books both adult and young adult. I had the pleasure of meeting her and her beautiful family last year and my only regret is that we do not live closer to each other. She is amazingly sweet and brilliantly funny, months may go by between calls and yet I can give her a call it is like we just talked the day before.

I had never looked at blog before and then Christine posted a link to her blog one day and a whole new world opened up to me. I found this whole blogging world fascinating and I have to thank and credit her for getting me started on my own blog. I am glad that she likes it and hope that others enjoy it also. It is my spin on things in life, sometimes silly and a bit Twilight/Henry Cavill/Book obsessed...but those are the things that make me happy :)

1) The Movie Maven My friend Melanie who has a great love and passion for movies. If I ever want to know anything that is in the media, then this is the place I automatically go to. She has amazing movie reviews and is always on top of what is going on with films and such. I also love her own videos that she makes, she is just so talented. I can't even post a mini movie that I have on my phone.

2) Confessions of a Geek Another dear and long lost sister friend has made it back into my life via a blog. We both shared a crazy experience years ago and from that moment on we were like two peas in a pod. She is soo very funny and when we talk, I am always left in tears from crying so darn much. I wish that she lived closer for we are two sisters from another mister. I am glad to have reconnected with her and visiting her blog and seeing how she looks at life always puts a smile on my face.

3)The Art of Nothing An amazing blog from a good friend that is visually beautiful while posting some key notes of introspective thoughts. When she travels she has this amazing food diary that leaves my mouth watering...YUM!! Then her various pictures of her travels always leave me yearning to go to those beautiful places myself. She has been my travel partner on a view trips and we always have so much fun together. I miss her and her blog is a way for me to keep in touch. MUAH!!

4)The Book Bind This blog belongs to my favorite independent book store in the whole bay area of California. They have an amazing Young Adult staff that are so very sweet and helpful. I have been to several author events , beginning with the beloved Melissa Marr and the most recent being Neil Gaiman. This particular blog is for Teen readers, but I find that as of late that is what I enjoy reading the most. They have amazing book suggestions and reviews and their author interviews are very well done. Here is shout out to Angela for being such a sweetheart and every time I see her she seems genuinely happy to see me.

5)Ornamental Narrative Jewelry by Nina Bagley. If you looking for something truly unique and breathtaking images of life and art then, this is the place for you. I am such a lurker, for I am in such awe of her sumptuous works of art. Another friend of mine had her posted on her blog and one day I went to go and check it out and I have been a fan ever since. She makes me appreciate the beauty that comes with everyday life, the budding fragrant roses, the peaceful blue sky, the rain on my face...all things that are almost painful in their beauty. Please go to her site and look around, you will not be disappointed.

6)The happily ever after from my friend Christine. I am not sure if your supposed to nominate the one that nominated you, but her blog is one of my favorite ones. It would not be right for me to not mention her. I enjoy going to her blog to read about her book reviews, recommendations and daily adventures. We have alot in common in regards to books and I am glad that I have someone to chat about my books with. Muah!!

I spent fourteen years with my dear corolla. My wintergreen sidekick to so many of my adventures. The Robin to my Batman, the yin to my yan, the cheech to my chong...you know what I mean. My homey....I will miss you and hope your new owner will take care of you as I did.

It was time, yes it was time to get another baby and although I will miss my little green martian I am just giddy with my new sleek silver beauty.

Neil Gaiman and Chapter 5 The Dance Macabre

Neil Gaiman was in Palo Alto last night for his book tour of the The Graveyard Book. This book tour is unique for he is reading a chapter from the book at each stop on his tour and he is having it video taped. Keplers book store did an amazing job of setting up the stage. They placed a comfy chair and end table filled with water, a beautiful lamp and a black crow. They also placed mock headstones of the books characters surrounding his chair. This is video from last night.

If you go onto his website you can get the entire book on video, now how awesome is that? His voice is so soothing and he does all the voices. I highly recommend watching it.

1. Harry Potter, the boy who changed the way that society looks at Young Adult literature. In 2000 the great demand for this series of books caused the New York Times to create a separate best seller list just for children's literature. Adults and children alike adored these books and the release of the last few novels incited record breaking sales, midnight release parties, look-a-like contests and...oh my!...people to enjoy reading a brilliant story.

While I went thru my cancer ordeal I had time on my hands and one day went to the book store and picked up the first 3 books in the series. My life was instantly changed, I no longer was in a world that dealt with Dr. appointments, chemo and pain, for it became transformed into an world of adventure filled with wizards, headless nick and you-know-who. My heart will always have a soft spot for Harry, for he gave something back to me, something that I lost when i grew up. The ability to dream of adventures, of far way places...that I could do anything and be anyone while in the grips of an amazing book. Thank you, Harry Potter. MUAH!!!

2. Han Solo(Harrison Ford), I adored him. He was one of my first major crushes when I was younger. He dressed totally sexy cool and he had hairy sidekick, Chewbacca. He was an important member of the rebel alliance in the "Star Wars" trilogy. He helps luke rescue Leia...and falls in love with her. They acted like that could not stand each other, but we all knew the truth. At one point he is frozen in Carbonite but not before Leia confesses her love for Han who replies with "I know." I so wished that I was Princess Leia, not for the cool gold bikini she gets to wear with those cinnamon roll braids, but because she had Han Solo.

3. Hubbell Gardner, in The Way We Were. I loved his character for he was beauty and ugliness all wrapped up in the same package. I still cry every time I see it. A romantic love story, spanning over many years, deals with two people that were polar opposites, star crossed lovers as one would say. Hubbell(Robert Redford)a beautiful and laid back, talented writer and Katie(Barbra Streisand)a homely, akward yet passionate socialist. His beauty and talent are what draws Katie to him, but he squanders it, basically happy at taking the easy way out of life, never having the drive and passion that Katie had. These differences bring them together and eventually tear them apart. At the end of the movie the meet again and he realizes that he was the best when he was with her. No one would ever believe in him or see as much promise in him as she once did. All that Hubbell and Katie can ever share is a poignant memory of the way they were......Memories, like the corners of my mind, misty water colored memoriesssss....of the way we were.

4. Hal Larson aka Shallow Hal(Jack Black), this character was one of my favs. Yes, he was a major dick. He picked women apart for every single little thing, he was horrible...he was shallow. He meets Tony Robbins while stuck in an elevator and his life changes for...well the better. He now can see people for what they truly are and not for the packaged body that they are in. Yes, he does snap out of his rose colored glasses but he is not the same guy as he used to be. He realizes that beauty is not for what the person looks like, but for who they truly are.

5. Hiro Nakamura(Maki Oki) of Heroes. He is cheerfully optimistic and can travel in time. He believes that what one does can affect the future, and tries to amend things buy going forward or back in time. He is by far my favorite character on Heroes and I look forward to all of his efforts. His child like manner and believe in all things either being good or bad are endearing, but can be his downfall if he does not accept that there is alot of gray when it comes to human nature.

This coming weekend is full of many events around the bay area and I was debating on where and what to do. Of course it does look like I have forgotten THE ONLY PENINSULA APPEARANCE by all round favorite author NEIL GAIMAN! Now how could I have forgotten him..I do not know, but I must say that I really enjoy his books. Keplers, my favorite independent bookstore is having an event that he will attend this Saturday and I will surely be there. I have begun listening to his new novel The Graveyard Book and am thoroughly entranced. I recommend this small jewel of a book to anyone who wants to read a cleverly written story. Ok...I have decided to post a video of amusement for weekly enjoyment and merriment. This week has been a difficult one. Many sad events have occured within the past few days and I needed a little pick me up. After much searching (on you tube), I have come to the conclusion that a bit of laughter can help a craptastic week become a little more tolerable. As with my love of Twilight I wanted to include this video that had me laughing so much that I literally had tears streaming down my face. I cannot believe that your California adventure has come and gone already. It was a very last minute deal, and since my friend Linda had time on her hands. I convinced her to come out and visit. It was a gift to my friend Tricia and I also...of course. Linda arrived on a Tuesday night and the very next day we were off and running. The highlight of the day was going to RWA and meeting some of our favorite authors, especially Sherrilyn Kenyon. She was the most awesome person to meet, very warm and friendly and she did not mind having us gush all over her. Linda still wants her jacket. Sherrilyn had some gorgeous men with her and heck...we could not resist pictures.

Breaking Dawn Concert

Hello and greetings from Disneyland. I wanted to post a few pictures , but will give more details of the awesome event last night with Stephenie Meyer. I have to say that when Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October came on to sing I became an instant fan, and when he sang My Never (not out until March 2009)....OMG!!! the tears began and would not stop. To anyone that is reading Breaking Dawn if you have read page 355 than the song pertains to that moment in the book. Thus the flood of tears (I am such a Jacob/Edward Fan girl, heck call me Switzerland), then you get to page 359 and...

I loved the book and according to Stephenie Meyer everything has played out as was originally intended. So, it wasn't a change created to make everything all nicey nice. I love all the main characters of this book and wanted them to have their HEA and they did. I am not a reviewer, but a lover of this series. At times I wish some words could have been omitted just to get to a moment faster, but other than that. I LOVED IT.

I wanted to give a shout out to KEPLERS book store in Menlo Park, CA. I wore the shirt I had on to the event to give my support to them and Stephenie did get to see it. I wish I could have talked with her more than just the 10 seconds allowed.

My Favorite Summer Jams, What's Yours?

Ahh summer, the time to have fun in the sun, travel, hangout with friends, eat fantabulous food, work on your tan....and get down and boogie. I have always associated a song that embodies that summer's adventures/mood. This summer is no different, except that this tim I have gone on total rewind. I have looked at some songs from the past that have given me good memories and that I cannot help but dance to. You know the one....that special song that no matter where you are and what you are doing you cannot help but get in a few steps and move your junk in da trunk.

I wanted to compile a top a list, but it was very very difficult. How do a fit in a lifetime of my love of music into a simple list of the most awesome summer jams? First, I tried to create a list, but where would I draw the line. I could easily have a list of a thousand and it would still not be enough. So, to make my life easy I decided on just a few of my favorites. Then there was the process of picking the songs. Do I go by what my Ipod tells me that I play the most? Do I look at my music collection? Do I look at top lists through history? Do I look everything up online? Can you see my eyes crossing at the thought of it all. Yikes!! I realized that everyone's summer tunes can differ greatly so..

After careful consideration I decided to start a list and have anyone that comes and visits my blog add their own songs. Here is the first song and i truly love it, for it combines two of my favorite all time songs.

My friend has tickets to see Stephenie Meyer in L.A. in August. She has 3rd row seats and I am beyond happy. I had the pleasure of seeing Stephenie last year in Petaluma. I was able to sit right in front of her and she had answered a question of mine which I always ask every writer I meet.

"What is the most painful passage that you have written and why?" She responded and I had to agree with her answer (will not post in case someone has not read her books yet). I agreed, especially with the passage in Eclipse that left me bawling for days. I know that there are some that dislike that book...but I don't care. I lurve it. All of it, every word, sentence, paragraph, chapter.....everything. So, I am really looking forward to going and seeing her again. WOOT!!!

It was 8 YEARS, 96 MONTHS, 384 WEEKS, 2920 DAYS, 70080 HOURS, 4204800 MINUTES, 252 288 000 SECONDS Since I was diagnosed with cancer. My life was never the same after that diagnosis, everything changed....

I had grand ideas. I promised myself that if I survived that I would change my life. That I would be a better human being, make a difference in world. Needless to say, I survived. The perfection that I strived for I soon realized was doomed, that in order to fulfill it I would have to please everyone, and that is impossible. I tried repeatedly and I nearly lost myself in the process believing that I was some miracle being that survived cancer and that I had to live this "new" life as if everyday would be my last. That the path that I would now go on would be watched by everyone, a model of behavior that would be followed.

I was wrong....what I failed to realize is that I had to be happy with myself...ME, the person that housed my soul and whose body had gone through so much. It has not been easy. I have made many mistakes and I know I will make many more for I am only human, not a goddess, a diety, prophet or queen. I am a lucky someone who recognized that every day is a gift and that in order to make changes in the world around me I had to make the change within myself. Become that better person I always knew I could be. It is not something that we can achieve overnight, but a journey of a lifetime that I am blessed to be given a second chance at. So, today....I give a shout out to all of those that have been constant companions to those that have made and impression on me and no longer are in my life.

Cemetery Love

I love to visit cemeteries. Many don't understand my fascination to visit them, but that is ok. To each his own. Although I do have a few sistah's from another mistah, (one in particular that could totally be my goto cemetery buddy for life...aka CBFL, u know who u are), that totally indulge me in my hobby. I find it to be a place of beauty and ugliness, quiet tranquility and screaming emotions. A place to visit during my life ON earth, but not somewhere I ever want to stay...does that make sense? Probably not, but when do I make sense? It was a gorgeous day and I could not resist stopping by and paying homage to my favorite spots. My BFF Tricia and I went to Menlo Park to meet the wonderfully talented Melissa Marr. We had an amazing evening filled with alot of information and a great reading from Melissa. She was very warm and engaging and I was very happy to have finally met her. We are going to see her again next month at RWA. If anyone has the chance to meet her, do so and if you have not read WICKED LOVELY and INK EXCHANGE, then run and go out and get your books now. You will not be dissappointed.

Ahoy Matey!! Pirates Have Invaded My Hometown

Swords flashed and cannons roared on Father's day weekend. What better place to take your dad as you enjoy a swashbuckling day of pirate watching and wench calling. The weather was fantastic, the food bombastic and the black cherry cider... orgasmic. I cannot wait for next year. Anyone up for a great day should come to the Pirate Festival of Norcal, did i mention that it was FREE!!

This duo had amazing outfits. They got alot of attention during the event These guys got really into the theme of things. I love how the color red just popped.
Davey Jones looked so good, that he was very scary indeed.
I loved these outfits. The brocade coat was stunning Ok...I know I should NOT have taken this, but.....come on. How could I resist

A beautiful read. A sci-fi story for those that don't like Sci-fi. I have been in and out of the hospital with my mother and visiting my cousin. So, I had much time on my hands. I am glad that I had this awesome book to keep my company. It came out on May 6th and If you have not purchased it. I recommend doing so.

This amazing adventure would not have been possible if not for my friend Tricia. When I finished RT (Radiation Therapy) school. Tricia came to my room with a stack of books. She looked at me and said that there was this character in this series of books that reminded her of me and that I had to read it. I remember looking down and seeing the title UNDEAD and UNWED by MJD...I said, "ok" and then ignored the stack for a while longer. After a few more weeks and a few more nags from Tricia. I decided to sit down and give the books a chance. It is not that I did not like reading, but after 4 years of being in school...it had become a chore .

Needless to say, I was hooked after the first few pages and my life has never been the same. I owe this start to my dear friend Tricia. I got started on this fun ride all because of her and MJD
Since I am a person to always take it a step further...I decided to join the MJD fan group and forum and after I posted I got contacted by another friend that informed me about other authors and books and RT. That person was Terri, I credit her for enriching my library and giving me this experience to enjoy. She and Jose were my roomies last year and their generosity made it possible for Tricia and I to attend RT and from that point on I was hooked. Thank you Terri

To my dear roommates Linda and Megan, that made this year so very memorable. I can no longer look at the color green, tae qwan-do, cranberry chocolate mix and starbucks without thinking of you both . RING RING....is u my friend.

Thank you to my fellow yahoo mates that I got the chance to meet and am so glad to call them my friends. Lori and Space you guys are the best I hope to see you both next year

Erika and Cici, I loved your costumes and each night I was looking out for you both. I could not wait to see what else you had in store for us. I am glad that we had that last night at RT. It was fun and I hope we get the comfy sofa next time.

Hey beth...I am glad I got to meet you and that we had all those pictures taken with all the purdy boys. It was a blast.

Another round of thanks goes to the very best authors out there. These ladies are so very kind and SNARKY funny that you cannot help but love them all. Dakota Cassidy, Michele Bardsley (with extra special chocolate love) and MaryJanice Davidson. I am forevah a fan and will promote yas till I die. RT adventures continue

Well besides meeting some of the best people and awe inspiring authors. I did get a chance to get some fantastic pictures of the pretty men that were around the convention. My dear friend Tricia is totally besotted by Adrian Paul and he co-hosted a charity dinner with Fabio.

This is the picture that Tricia took and got totally BUSTED in taking this gorgeous picture of Adrian Paul. He was sitting at the table next to us. *sigh* Tricia was blushing a bright red and shoved the camera towards me and told me "OMG, I got soo busted!" I was very happy to see her this giddy. She has not been this happy in a very long time.

Tricia's dream man. In an awesome moment in time...When asked WHO he thought was the sexiest...He was pointing at me. LMAO!!Tricia does not like how she looks in this picture ...so i made it really really really small.

At the end of the event. I had a brilliant idea. Tricia and I went and got our roomies so that they could share in this amazing moment and take their picture with Adrain Paul. I am so very sorry ladies for being sooo pushy, but it had to be done and look at the result

Then I met FABIO...and he was fabulous. I was never a "fan" of his for he has never been my type but OMG this man has such an aura about him. Sex is pouring out of every pour and he is very kind and intelligent. I was hanging onto him for dear life. He had me in such a grip that I was on my tippy toes and if I did not hold onto him I would have fallen for sure. My boobs were pressed up into him, but I am guessing that was his plan all along. LOL!! When he gently released me I stepped on his toes and I blushed my apoligies to him and he told me that it was ok. I could step on his toes anytime.

RT!!! What an adventure

I survived RT 2008!!

I spent a bit of time not posting due to the fact that I went to Washington DC and then a week later was at RT having the best time of my life. It is hard for me to put it into words. I enjoy RT so much for I get to see old friends and make new ones then to top it off you are totally surrounded by the best authors around. It is almost too good to be true. I make the most of my experience and always know that more fun is to be had the following year.

Tricia and I arrived on a red eye flight and although we stayed at a hotel that was less than stellar. The only redeeming quality is that it had an awesome view. I won't mention the name but I must say that even Paris would NOT stay at this place.

Once we got settled in, which took all of 2 minutes then we were off and running. First things first . I had to put on my self-made promotional bit of the authors that I LURVE

I had roomies to meet. Megan and Linda. The best chicas evah!!

The MJD Yahoo Group to hook up with. All Hail BETSY the Vampire Queen. I love this picture with (starting at the front left) Beth, Megan, Lori (Back) Me, MJ, Tricia and Linda. This was at the Speakeasy party hosted by Christine Feehan

and authors to chat with, like J. R. Ward of the BDB. I was in total awe of meeting her and she did not dissappoint. She was very gracious and kind. A real treat to listen to during the panels.

An awesome surprise was having the fabulous L.A. Banks sit at our table during the Vampire Ball. She had the most stunning cross necklace on...YUM!!! But this spider cuff had me running. She was so gracious and warm that I became and instant fan and got the first book in her vampire series the very next day. How could I have been so foolish to not have gotten it before, I dont know. L.A. adored us and she even mentioned us in her blog.

The most surreal moment was when MJD and J. R. Ward sat in the same panel. My two favorite authors side by side. I even got to ask a question at that panel. They were joined by Christine Feehan. There was a point during the panel when MJ confession to getting frisky after reading on of Feehan's books. LMAO. What a funny moment. I am soo glad to have been there.

There was an amazing event with MJ, Dakota Cassidy and Michele Bardsley. It was an evening mixer with some very handsome man candy. It was also the beginning of the SNARK wars and we all had such a good laugh over it.

Oh I remember saturday mornings and running to get the paper just so that i could read the comics. I would fanatically go thru the entire 5 pages in 10 minutes and then wish for the next saturday to bring me some more laughter. Pushing MY Daisies

I love to watch movies, but my schedule is usually crazy. When I get a chance I love to watch romantic comedies, hence my viewing of Miss Pettigrew lives for a day. It was a charming film with some laugh out loud moments. I must say that it seemed to loose some of it steam at times, but for the most part....I was captivated, because I was too busy listening and staring at......

Lee Pace , who was in the movie and those that know me, know that I LUVRE Pushing Daisies. I just adore it, cannot get enough of it, drat the fact that no new shows will return until the fall. Damn, Damn and Damn again. I just cannot get enough and I totally love the kissing scenes with Ned and Chuck.

Well, I had my Mr. Piemaker fix...ahhhhh He had such a lovely English accent for this role. OMG! I am surprised that I did not throw my knickers at him after he said a few lines. If I thought he was dreamy before, it was nothing compared to having him speaking in an English accent... too dreamy. I left with a wicked grin on my face. Made me wish I was Chuck.

Check out the video, it totally showcases all those moments that just make me smile. I want my piemaker to come back soon. Thank goodness for TiVo.

YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER TO GET THIS BOOK

For those that know me, know that have a ridiculously long commute. In order for me to keep my sanity in check I use my much adored Ipod and audio books to keep me entertained and sane. Today I finished the recent novel of one of my favorite authors, Sophie Kinsella. Her newest novel, REMEMBER ME? was so captivating that I even had my commute partner/co-worker hooked on the story within minutes. I will never be able to think of "monte blanc" the same way again. LOL!

This novel is a story of woman named Lexi Smart and her adventures of getting her life back after a car crash that has left her with amnesia. Last she remembers, she has a mediocre life and looks with close friends and a loser boyfriend. She wakes up to find that she is beautiful with a gorgeous husband, the company big shot with different friends. How did this all happen? With her mind still stuck three years in reverse, Lexi greets this brave new world determined to be the person she is told that she is. Until..a handsome architect drops the biggest bombshell of all. Her new "perfect" life is turned upside down for it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue.

I loved this story because Lexi is so lovable and REAL! You will not be disappointed with this book! Sophie Kinsella has done an amazing job of a fresh new character who finds herself in a life-changing and utterly hilarious predicament.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to read an engaging story with some great laughs. Make sure to clear your social calendar for once you start, you will not be able to put it down. I cannot talk about it enough, but I will let the author talk about Remember Me and let you listen for yourself and see how you have to read this book

A Yummy Surprise

I woke up this morning like any other. My normal routine of getting up and going to the STARBUCKS drive thru has lost some of its excitement ever since I gave up coffee for lent. Yet, today I missed my old friend and decided on a grande tuxedo hot cocoa. As I waited in line I noticed that a girl scout troupe had parked themselves right next to the drive-thru window. SAAAAAWEET!!! The Girl Scouts - freak’en pushers! Those thin mints are like crack! I think I have consumed an entire box already....ekkkk!!! I CANNOT RESIST. Amazing that something so small, minty and chocolaty delicious has given me so much joy.
