THE HOST

A beautiful read. A sci-fi story for those that don't like Sci-fi. I have been in and out of the hospital with my mother and visiting my cousin. So, I had much time on my hands. I am glad that I had this awesome book to keep my company. It came out on May 6th and If you have not purchased it. I recommend doing so.

Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed. When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love. One of the most compelling writers of our time, Stephenie Meyer brings us a riveting and unforgettable novel about the persistence of love and the very essence of what it means to be human.

Hey girlfriend! I'm hoping to start this one this week. It is long... so I have been a bit intimidated... and ya know... sometimes RL doesn't cooperate. I'm sure once I get into it 640 pages won't be too much! :)

Hugs and best wishes to you, your mom, and your cousin. *muah*

Thanks for the comments on my blog! I hope you liked the personalized shout out on my LEn review. I meant to text you when I posted that.

I also forgot to tell you that I had requested a free copy of THE HOST from this publishing group a long time ago and then a few days after release date, it was on my doorstep!! And then a friend had an extra and gave it to me!! LOL THE HOST was taking over my house! But OMG did I love this book. So emotional ... so thought provoking... so poignant. I was torn up inside. But so very happy with the ending. It was perfect.

I miss chatting with you on YIM... :(
